The Automotive Fuel and Combustion Technology (AFACT) group is devoted to studies of fuel chemistry, combustion and pollution control for combustion engines, and more generally for compression and spark ignition combustion processes, and everything in between. The mission of AFACT is to investigate and solve problems related to combustion engine emissions through innovation in engine combustion, exhaust aftertreatment and fuel formulation research. Typically, there are more than a dozen students, including some undergraduate laboratory assistants, involved in the research with the AFACT group at any given time.
